Anchusa cespitosa is a rare, low-growing, mat-forming perennial endemic to the high-altitude, dry limestone slopes of Crete's White Mountains (1600–2200m). It features dense, almost stemless clusters of brilliant blue flowers with white eyes and hairy, deep green, linear leaves, typically blooming from May to July
